Chand raat special: Musical showcase at Shilpakala

To celebrate the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has arranged a Chand raat special musical event. The programme will take place today at 7 pm at Nandan Mancha, featuring performances by Emon Chowdhury, Nancy, and Qawwal Ahmed Noor Ameri. Ameri is well-known for his expertise in Qawwali and Maizbhandari music.
Regarding the event, Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki wrote on his Facebook, "For the first time, Shilpakala Academy is hosting an Eid celebration. Bangladesh is a land of diverse languages, beliefs, and religions. Everything within this vibrant society is part of our culture, and Bangladesh will embrace it all. The politics of division has no place here."
According to Shilpakala Academy, the programme will open with Qawwali and Maizbhandari performances by Ahmed Noor Ameri and his co-artistes.
Following that, singer Nancy will deliver a solo performance, and the event will conclude with a set by Bengal Symphony, the band behind the song "Dekha Na Dile Bondhu Kotha Koiyo Na".
Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki will be present as the chief guest.
Md Mofidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, will attend as the special guest, while Mohammad Wares Hossain, Secretary of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will deliver the welcome speech.
The event is open to everyone. In addition to the musical performances, a Mehendi corner will also be available.
