Jungkook's solo hit 'Seven' makes history on Spotify
BTS star Jungkook has achieved a remarkable milestone by topping Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart for six consecutive weeks. The 25-year-old artiste accomplished this feat with his debut solo track, "Seven", which also dominated Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart for an impressive 42 days.
Despite six weeks since its release on July 14, "Seven" has managed to maintain an average of 7.6 million daily streams, according to Spotify's data. The song garnered a total of approximately 53.7 million streams over the week.
In the context of the Weekly Top Songs Global chart, "Seven" outshone other tracks, including Miley Cyrus's "Flowers" and Myke Towers' "LALA".
The song's summer vibes, coupled with its infusion of 1990s UK garage rhythms, contributed to its widespread appeal. Moreover, "Seven" secured the third spot among the most-streamed songs of the summer on Spotify, trailing only Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma's "Ella Baila Sola" and Bad Bunny's "Where She Goes".
Beyond its success on Spotify, the solo made a significant debut on Billboard's primary singles chart, immediately claiming the top spot.
Jungkook's achievement marks the sixth instance of a BTS member embarking on an official solo career, following the paths of j-Jin, RM, Jimin, and Suga. The group's final member to venture into the solo realm, V, is expected to unveil his inaugural solo album, "Layover" on September 8.
