A voyage of university friends that initially began when casually belting out songs together on their campus transitioned officially in 2002. That year, these friends finally formed their band, Meghdol. The popular rock band has now surpassed 20 years together, so it is gearing up to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The band has organised a solo concert titled "Shorote Meghdol" to mark its journey of over 20 years. The event will be held on October 13 at the Liberation War Museum auditorium in the capital.

In this regard, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, a founding member of the band, said, "We will perform new and old songs in front of the audiences. This event to honour our musical journey, is important to us in many ways. Moreover, this arrangement has been made particularly for those who have been, are, and will be with us on this long journey by appreciating our music.

Sumon said that a copy of the concert's official poster would be given to the concertgoers with every ticket sold. Another variation of their poster and t-shirts will be sold at the venue, as merchandise.

Meghdol's vocalist Shibu Kumar Shil said, "Actually most of the time, we often do not get to play as many songs as we would like to, due to time constraints. This concert is for the untold stories of the songs we don't always get to perform."

The ticket price for the concert has been fixed at Tk 800 and it can be collected from the Google Doc file created by the band on its official Facebook page.

Notably, Meghdol has released two studio albums since its debut. The songs of its third album 'Aluminum Er Dana' are now coming out. This album's title track was released on August 18.

The current lineup of the band comprises, Shibu Kumar Shil (lyrics, melody, vocals), Mejbaur Rahman Sumon (lyrics, melody, vocals), Rasheed Sharif Shoaib (vocals, melody, guitar), Amzad Hossain (drums), M G Kibria (bass guitar), Tanbeer Dawood Rony (keyboard) and Shourov Sarker (flute, clarinet, saxophone).
