The much-awaited teaser for the latest season of Coke Studio Bangla, titled "Return of Magic", has been unveiled today, sending waves of anticipation rippling through the music community. Set to premiere on April 13, the third instalment boasts a staggering lineup of over 180 musicians and artistes from Bangladesh and around the globe.
The upcoming season of Coke Studio Bangla will feature a repertoire of 11 new songs, showcasing an eclectic mix of artistes from diverse backgrounds and presenting a myriad of Bangla music genres. Continuing the tradition set by the previous seasons, Shayan Chowdhury Arnob assumes the role of music curator for season 3, alongside fellow music producers such as Pritom Hasan, Emon Chowdhury, Shuvendu Das Shuvo, and others.
Popular band Meghdol has been hitting the stage with their mesmerising performances, captivating audiences across the country from city to city. Recently, on March 7 and 8, they graced Chattogram with consecutive concerts, followed by another performance in Jashore on March 10.
The journey of band music in Bangladesh is witnessing a resurgence, with many recognising that it all began in Chittagong. Not only that but numerous successful bands and music icons have emerged from this coastal city, surrounded by the sea and hills. It's within this Chattogram’s landscape that this year's much-anticipated "Joy Bangla Concert", one of the country's biggest concerts is taking place.
Meghdol’s main vocalist Shibu Kumer Shill has recently been making headlines for having lent his voice to “Nirbashito Chaand”, from the upcoming Tollywood film “Shri Swapankumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole”. The multifaceted personality, who also moonlights as a filmmaker, author, and an illustrator, had a chat with The Daily Star over the phone.
The concert, titled “Bijoy Ullash”, is going to take place at Jamuna Future Park’s Players Club on Friday, December 15, from 2 PM to 10 PM.
The spirit of solidarity through music has been a beacon of hope and activism throughout history. Just as the "To Gaza, from Dhaka – Artists Against Genocide" concert unites Bangladeshi musicians to aid Gaza, it bears a striking resemblance to another historic musical event: the "Concert for Bangladesh."

“I don’t know how else we can help a nation that is repeatedly being wronged other than through our art,” said Ahmed Hasan Sunny, a rising star in the music industry. “We’ve remained an audience, helpless after seeing bombs dropped on civilians, hospitals and innocent children in Gaza. We decided to do something about it.” The young artiste took the challenge to organise a concert in support of Gaza’s hand-in-hand with artist Morshed Mishu, who was already planning to make graffiti to speak up for the oppressed people of Gaza.
