Swifties rejoice as Taylor Swift and Matt Healy reportedly break up
Quite recently, Taylor Swift ended her 6-year-long relationship with Joe Alwyn. Soon after, rumours began to circulate that the singer was going out with Matt Healy, particularly after The 1975 frontman was spotted at all the Nashville concerts that followed. Ever since, the two have been spotted together numerous times.
However, this whirlwind of a romance might have been doomed from the beginning. A source revealed to Elle that the two weren't serious. Taylor was still adjusting to a new life without Joe and was not ready to commit to a new relationship.
Now, TMZ has reported that Taylor Swift and Matt Healy have broken up. While the two singers had not publicly confirmed their relationship, it seemed apparent to the internet that they were romantically involved.
Elle's source has indicated that the two parted amicably, after realising they were not compatible. However, TMZ believes otherwise.
During a concert last weekend, Matt Healy kissed a security guard. This stunt was typical of the singer, who is known for kissing random concertgoers while performing. But it was assumed that this would stop during their 'relationship'.
While the two have known each other since 2014 and had sparked dating rumours in the past, Healy was quick to shut them down, saying that "it would be emasculating to date Taylor Swift".
Fans of Taylor Swift have criticised this relationship since the beginning. Swifties' have never really approved of Healy's controversial past, where the singer has often come off as racist, Islamophobic, and antisemitic. So, when the two began dating, many people expressed their disappointment.
However, now that the two have allegedly called it quits, Swifties are rejoicing in celebration, commenting on social media saying, "we're free" and "everyone cheered".
