Blender’s Choice The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards kicks off in style

The glitz and glamour of the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) lit up this evening as the much-anticipated third edition of "Blender's Choice The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2023" unfolded.  

A celebration of excellence in the OTT and digital entertainment sector, the awards aim to honour remarkable achievements in this rapidly growing industry. This year's event, showcasing talent from 2023, brought together an array of stars, influencers, and creators, promising a night to remember.

The festivities commenced at 4:30pm, with stars walking the red carpet in a festive mood, posing for glamorous shots, and mingling with peers. The venue's Hall of Fame buzzed with excitement as the audience settled in for an evening of celebration.  

The event officially began with the unveiling of the event's logo. A solemn moment followed, with a one-minute silence observed to commemorate the July uprising.

The tone then shifted as the hosts of the evening, Azra Mahmood and Rafsan Shabab, welcomed
Alif and Shahnaz Sumi to the stage. With a stunning dance performance, the team set the stage for a vibrant evening.

Omar Hannan, general manager of Ispahani Group, warmly welcomed the attendees. Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, followed with an inspiring address, stating, "I am truly amazed by the innovative and creative content that offers a fresh, modern perspective on our society. These works go beyond entertainment, providing a unique outlook on life as a whole."

He added, "It is an honour to host this programme with all of you, and on behalf of The Daily Star, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is a great privilege to have you here." 

The awards this year span an impressive 30 categories, split between Critics' and Popular segments. The Critics' segment includes 12 awards, while the Popular segment comprises nine categories. Additionally, five categories each are dedicated to music and individual content, ensuring a comprehensive recognition of talent across the spectrum.  

The event continues to spotlight achievements in the vibrant OTT industry, celebrating the creators and artistes whose work has resonated with audiences and critics alike.  

As the evening unfolds, the audience eagerly anticipates the announcement of winners, performances, and moments that define this celebration of creativity and innovation in digital content.
