Aamir Khan, Emily Blunt to be honoured at Red Sea Film Festival this year
The Red Sea International Film Festival will honour Bollywood icon Aamir Khan and Oscar-nominated Hollywood star Emily Blunt this year.
The festival is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 5 to December 14, celebrating global filmmaking talent.
At the opening ceremony, renowned Egyptian actress Mona Zaki will also receive a prestigious accolade.
Mona Zaki's recognition had been previously announced, according to Deadline. In addition to the honours, Aamir Khan and Emily Blunt will participate in the festival's "In Conversation With" series, offering attendees a rare glimpse into their careers and creative journeys.
Other speakers in this celebrated segment include Hollywood stars Eva Longoria, Andrew Garfield, and Ranbir Kapoor.
Aamir Khan, one of India's most accomplished actors and filmmakers, boasts an illustrious career featuring blockbuster hits such as "Dangal", "Ghajini", "3 Idiots", "Dhoom 3", "PK", and the Oscar-nominated "Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India".
Reflecting on the honour, Aamir shared, "Cinema has been my lifelong passion, and to be among such an inspiring group of artists from around the world is truly humbling," as reported by Deadline.
Emily Blunt, celebrated for her performances in "A Quiet Place", "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sicario", recently received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" (2023).
Her upcoming projects include "The Smashing Machine", alongside Dwayne Johnson, and a highly anticipated collaboration with Steven Spielberg.
Expressing her gratitude, Emily said, "I admire everything this festival is doing to support innovative and emerging talent in the film industry. I'm especially excited by how they are empowering women in cinema and giving them a stronger voice."
Now in its fourth edition, the Red Sea Film Festival has established itself as a prominent cultural event in the Middle East, drawing filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals to the historic port city of Jeddah.
