Ranbir Kapoor to make directorial debut soon?
Ranbir Kapoor is the latest Bollywood celebrity to attend the Red Sea International Film Festival, which is currently taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Ranbir's 'In Conversation' sessions at the festival covered a wide range of topics, from his flop film 'Shamshera' to his future plans for direction.
He also told Deadline that his long-term career goal is to work behind the camera.
"I've always wanted to direct and produce a film. But I've never had the courage to write a story," he stated.
"I've always waited for inspiration to strike. But here's the thing: I'm not a writer, and I'm extremely shy when it comes to sharing my ideas with others. But I'm working on it, and it's on my ten-year plan: to start directing movies and, hopefully, acting in them as well," said Ranbir.
When he was asked if he intends to enter Hollywood industry soon, he responded, "I would never say never, but I'm really satisfied with the prospects in my country and in my language."
The Barfi actor acknowledged that he had a mental impediment towards acting in English. "I prefer to act in my native tongue, because it comes naturally to me. But never say never," he said.
This statement by Kapoor is significant because his wife Alia Bhatt will shortly make her Hollywood debut in the upcoming film "The Heart Of Stone", co-starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
