Ranbir Kapoor’s star-studded selfie includes Bangladesh’s Mehazabien
Renowned Bangladeshi actress Mehazabien Chowdhury continues to make her mark on the global stage, this time capturing the attention of fans and media alike with a memorable appearance at the fourth Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Among the highlights of the event was a selfie with Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor, which has since gone viral on social media.
Mehazabien, known for her reserved demeanour, shared her excitement about meeting global icons like Will Smith, Emily Blunt, and Ranbir Kapoor during the festival.
In an interview with local media, she said, "Getting the chance to take a selfie with Ranbir Kapoor felt like a stroke of luck. I introduced myself, gave him a brief overview of my film, and we exchanged a few pleasantries before taking the photo."
The actress, who described herself as a big fan of Kapoor, added, "He's such a versatile actor, which I deeply admire. Approaching celebrities isn't something I find easy to do, but this moment with Ranbir was truly special."
The prestigious Red Sea International Film Festival served as a platform for Mehazabien to represent Bangladesh and its cinematic heritage. Her film "Saba", directed by Maksud Hossain, was one of 16 global entries selected for the competition category.
Featuring Mehazabien in the lead role alongside Mostafa Monwar and Rokeya Prachy, the film has already garnered praise at festivals in Toronto and Busan.
During the festival, "Saba" was showcased in three screenings. Mehazabien, staying true to her roots, donned traditional Bengali attire, proudly highlighting her culture on the global stage.
Meanwhile, Mehazabien's social media fan engagement ranked 24th globally, placing her alongside stars like Dwayne Johnson and Priyanka Chopra.
