‘Agnipurush’ coming on Int’l Firefighters’ Day
Recently, netizens in Dhaka have been facing serious damages due to frequent fire explosions at important places in the city. The unsung heroes of these incidents who save thousands of people are the firefighters, who often remain unnoticed.
On the occasion of International Firefighters' Day on May 4, Abu Hayat Mahmud is coming with a new web film titled "Agnipurush" to pay tribute to the firefighters. The web film features Shohel Mondol and Sunerah Binte Kamal in the lead roles. The web film will be released on Deepto Play.
"I am very lucky to land on this project. You see, in our country, being a firefighter is a very thankless job. However, in the recent fire accidents at Bangabazar and New Market, we have seen how much effort they put in to save our lives. They don't think about themselves. They save people, risking their lives, but they often go unnoticed. In this web film, we have tried to touch some part of their lives so that people can see and understand their struggles," said Shohel Mondol, who plays the titular role in this project.
Shohel also said that the Bangladesh Fire Service has helped them execute the scene by providing them with various equipment and techniques.
"I didn't get much time to prepare for my character. However, I tried my best to portray the character as realistically as possible. The most challenging part was rehearsing and using the equipment. It takes a lot of stamina and strength," Shohel added.
He hopes that this story will touch the hearts of the audience and make them more grateful for the hard work firefighters do.
In this web film, Sunerah Binte Kamal will play the role of the wife of Shohel Mondol.
On the work front, Shohel Mondol has a web series called "Antonagar", which is awaiting its release on Chorki. He finished the shooting of the film, "Shyamakabbo," directed by Badrul Anam Saud. He is also working on the film "Bonolota Sen," directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal.
