Allu Arjun faces legal charges ahead of ‘Pushpa 2’ release
Allu Arjun, the popular Telugu actor, is facing legal charges just days before the much-awaited release of "Pushpa 2: The Rule."
The controversy stems from a complaint filed against him for reportedly referring to his fanbase as an "army" during a recent event in Mumbai.
Amidst the ongoing promotional frenzy for the film, this legal matter has unexpectedly grabbed headlines.
According to reports, Allu Arjun has sparked controversy by referring to his fanbase as an "army," which allegedly offended an individual.
A man identified as Srinivas Goud has raised objections to the actor's choice of words, prompting him to take legal action.
Goud has reportedly filed a formal complaint against the actor at the Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad.
Reports suggest that Srinivas Goud, president of the Peace Environment and Water Harvesting Foundation, has objected to Allu Arjun's use of the term "army" to describe his fans. He stated that such terminology undermines the significance of the military, which holds a position of great honour.
In a video statement, Srinivas remarked, "We have filed a complaint against actor Allu Arjun, urging him to refrain from calling his fanbase an 'army.' The army represents those who protect our nation, a title of immense respect. There are numerous other terms he could use to address his fans instead."
Over the years, Allu Arjun has consistently referred to his fanbase as his "army." While expressing gratitude for their steadfast support during a promotional event for "Pushpa 2" in Mumbai, the actor remarked, "I don't have fans; I have an army. I love my fans, they're like my family. They stand by me, celebrate me, and support me like an army. I love you all, and I promise to make you proud. If this film becomes a massive success, I will dedicate it to all of you."
As of now, Allu Arjun's team has not issued any statement regarding the complaint.
