Talks about Ranbir Kapoor portraying famed Indian cricketer, Sourav Ganguly, in his biopic has been going around for quite a while now. Though no confirmation about the news has been announced by the film's authorities, media outlets have now reported that Ayushmann Khurrana might be replacing Ranbir in the biopic.

According to media reports, Ranbir Kapoor is facing a bit of trouble, since he is a right-hand dominant batsman, while Sourav Ganguly is a left-handed player. Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana is ambidextrous, which would allow the "An Action Hero" star to better fit the role of Sourav Ganguly.

The biopic is expected to be produced by the famed Indian director, writer, and producer, Luv Ranjan.

On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt, who is amongst the initiators of the biopic and a close friend of Sourav Ganguly, recently said to media outlets, "Nothing about the film is fixed yet. We'll need at least eight-nine months to decide who will play the lead role. Once everything falls into place, Sourav and the production house will formally announce who will play his character. That news that Ranbir Kapoor is likely to play Dada is just a rumour, at least at this point."

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer film, "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar", has hit the theatres today. Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana will soon greet the audience with his upcoming project, "Dream Girl 2".
