The teaser of acclaimed Indian director Srijit Mukherji's Hoichoi original series, "Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni", based on Mohammad Nazim Uddin's best-selling thriller novel of the same name, was released recently.
Celebrated Bangladeshi actor Azmeri Haque Badhon plays the role of Mushkan Zuberi in the series. Other cast members include Anjan Dutt (Khawraj Khashnobish), Rahul Bose (Nirupam Chanda), Anirban Bhattacharya (Ator Ali) and Anirban Chakrabarti (OC Tapas Sikdar), among others. The story revolves around a restaurant named Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni, which has been gaining immense popularity for its heavenly taste of food amongst outsiders.
When journalist Nirupam Chanda comes to find out about it himself, he develops a keen interest in its owner, Mushkan Zuberi. Nirupam meets Ator Ali, an informer to the police, who introduces him to the mystery surrounding the restaurant's owner.
Srijit Mukherji had mentioned at a press conference for the series that Badhon was always his first choice for the role of Mushkan Zuberi.
Badhon's film, "Rehana Maryam Noor" recently premiered at the 74th Cannes Film Festival to an outstanding response. It is the first Bangladeshi film to be selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.
