Badhon in Variety’s ‘International Breakout Stars’ list

Prominent actress Azmeri Haque Badhon's name has appeared in Variety's list of International Breakout Stars of 2021.

The "Rehana Maryam Noor" actress garnered international stardom when the film received a standing ovation at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Badhon also won the Asia Pacific Screen Award in the 'Best Actress' category for her performance in the movie.

"I was really happy and surprised when I saw my name in Variety list of 'International Breakout Stars. To be included in this list with such wonderful actors is truly amazing," mentioned Badhon.

"I was shocked when I was tagged in the article. While scrolling down, I saw my name and was completely speechless. The entire intro was written so beautifully and the way they described the film made me really happy," added the actress.

The actress gave the entire credit to her director and team members of "Rehana Maryam Noor" for being included in the prestigious list.

"I would like to give the entire credit to my director for selecting me and giving me such a challenging role. I am also grateful to my entire team members for supporting me and giving so much efforts to create this film," added the actress.

Variety list of International Breakout Stars 2021 also included Indian actor Adarsh Gourav for his film "The White Tiger", South Korean actor Jung Ho Yeon for "Squid Games", among others.

On the work front, Badhon is set to appear in Vishal Bhardwaj's "Khufiya" on Netflix.
