Dhallywood's leading actor Shakib Khan's production house SK Films (Shakib Khan Films) has officially launched its international film distribution wing. The company will now regularly distribute films across North America (as SK Films USA) and the Gulf region (as SK Films UAE).

The announcement was made at a press conference held on the evening of April 9 (local time) at a restaurant in Jackson Heights, New York. The event was attended by SK Films USA representatives including Badruzzaja Sagar and Farzana Akter, among others.

According to a press release issued by SK Films USA, the company will begin its international distribution journey with the release of "Borbaad" on April 18 in the United States and April 19 in Canada.

The SK Films authority stated that the goal is to bring Bangla cinema to a wider global audience on a larger scale. As part of this initiative, SK Films has taken up international film distribution in earnest.

Following its Eid-ul-Fitr release across 120 theatres in Bangladesh, "Borbaad" has been performing well at the local box office. This growing interest has also been echoed by Bangladeshi expatriates in the United States and Canada.

Viewers abroad who previously appreciated Shakib Khan starrers including "Priyotoma", "Rajkumar", and "Toofan" have shown enthusiasm for the new film.

On behalf of SK Films USA, it was stated that expatriates in the US and Canada have expressed significant interest in watching "Borbaad".

Theatres located in areas with prominent Bangladeshi communities will screen "Borbaad". In its opening week, the film is expected to run in 35 to 40 theatres.

Major US cities where "Borbaad" will be screened from April 18 include New York, Boston, Virginia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Michigan, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Maryland, Buffalo, and Philadelphia.

In Canada, the film will be released on April 19 in Bangladeshi-populated cities such as Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto.

Directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy, "Borbaad" features Shakib Khan opposite Idhika Paul. The cast also includes Misha Sawdagor, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, and Jisshu Sengupta.

Indian actress Nusrat Jahan appears in the item number "Chand Mama".
