The Bengali letter 'Pett Kata Shaw' translates to the 'Split-Bellied Shaw.' Despite its actual pronunciation being 'Murdhanya-Sha,' this quirky nickname is more widely used. Much like this letter's unusual moniker, Bangladesh is home to a treasure trove of chilling folklore that leaves listeners with goosebumps.

Inspired by these spine-tingling tales, the Chorki Original series "Pett Kata Shaw" by Nuhash Humayun debuted in 2022. Featuring episodes named "Ei Building-e Meyei Nishedh", "Mishti Kichu", "Loke Bole", and "Nishir Dak", he masterfully brought these haunting stories to life, garnering widespread acclaim.

Responding to popular demand, Chorki greenlit a second season of "Pett Kata Shaw." The much-anticipated announcement came in April 2024. After months of eager speculation, the teaser for the upcoming season has finally been unveiled yesterday on Chorki's official Facebook page at 8:00pm. The official release date for the new season will be revealed shortly.

The upcoming new season has been titled "Dui Shaw" and following the pattern of the first instalment, this season will also present four intriguing stories.

According to Chorki, the titles of the episodes and the cast details will be disclosed very soon. Blending elements of fantasy, horror, and mystery, the stories for "Dui Shaw" were penned by Nuhash Humayun alongside his mother, Gultekin Khan. Notably, this project marks the debut of poet Gultekkin Khan as a writer for a series.

Director Nuhash Humayun further divulged that the second season revisits some familiar themes while introducing fresh perspectives. The stories explore both supernatural and psychological realms, with an added layer of deeper, more thought-provoking ideas.

Reflecting on the new season, Nuhash remarked, "'Dui Shaw' moves beyond traditional folklore and superstitions, shedding light on the fears rooted in modern life and contemporary Bangladesh."

Chorki's CEO, Redoan Rony, shared his enthusiasm for the series, noting the overwhelming response to "Pett Kata Shaw" from viewers. He mentioned that fans frequently request more instalments of the series in the comment sections.
