Noted actor and Member of Parliament Farooque has finally started to talk after being in the ICU of Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for 6 months.

The actor's wife Farhana Pathan confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

"Your favourite Miya bhai (Farooque)'s condition has improved a lot. He can talk right now. It will take a lot of time for him to recover fully, but he is slowly improving. Please do pray for him," mentions Farhana.  

The actor has been receiving treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore since the first week of March this year. He was admitted to the ICU on March 21.

The actor worked in more than 150 films in his career, and is considered as one of the most prolific actors of his time. Most of his films were critically acclaimed and commercially successful.

In 2016, the actor received the National Film Award's Lifetime Achievement Award.
