Anurag Kashyap explained why he chose Sunny Leone for his film "Kennedy". The film had its international premiere at Cannes on Wednesday where it was screened at the midnight screening.

Sunny's part in "Kennedy '' isn't disclosed much, but there is a brief sight of the actor in the teaser. She can be seen laughing after going into an elevator. The plot centers around an insomniac ex-cop who is presumed dead yet is yearning for redemption.

Anurag Kashyap, speaking about Sunny, told Film Companion "I swear I have never seen her films, ever. I've watched her interviews. Her eyes are filled with despair. In the past, there was a life. I needed a woman above the age of 40 who is sexualized by the males around her, men in their 50s and 60s. I don't need to see a sex act or anything like that. I need to see this woman who is also dealing with it, also handling it, also using it all in order to survive and navigate. In Sunny, I found a woman who came with all those things inbuilt."

"Second, I am very aware of the amount of money that she is paid in the market. She was really happy with the film's offer and was determined to work hard for the film, which was seen in the movie," concluded the filmmaker.
