Jaya starrer ‘Nakshi Kanthar Jamin’ awarded at Bengaluru Int’l Film Festival

Jaya Ahsan starrer "Nakshi Kanthar Jamin (A Tale of Two Sisters)" bagged the Third Best Film Award in the 'Asian Competition category at the prestigious Bengaluru International Film Festival. The 14th edition of this festival started on March 23. 

 

Jaya Ahsan starrer "Nakshi Kanthar Jamin (A Tale of Two Sisters)" bagged the Third Best Film Award in the 'Asian Competition category at the prestigious Bengaluru International Film Festival. The 14th edition of this festival started on March 23. 

Announcing the news, the official Facebook page of the festival wrote, "Hearty congratulations to the winners of BIFFes 2023. Asian Cinema Competition: Third Best Film

-  A TALE OF TWO SISTERS." 

 

Moreover, noted actor Chanchal Chowdhury also took to his social media to applaud the film's success. He congratulated the whole crew of " Nakshi Kanthar Jamin", especially actors Dibbo and Shommo Jyoti, claiming " I am personally overjoyed and proud of my two nephews Dibbo-Shommo".

The kram Khan directorial, "A Tale of Two Sisters" is based on Hasan Azizul Haq's novel "Bidhobader Kotha", and produced by TM Films' Farzana Munny. This film is based on the Bangladesh's Liberation War. Earlier, the film was nominated for the competition category of the 19th Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival.

In the Asian competition category at the Bengaluru International Film Festival, 12 other films were competing from 8 countries. 

The Best Film Award was acquired jointly by the Indonesian film "Before Now and Then" and the Iranian film "Motherless."
