Karan Johar banned Priyanka Chopra from Bollywood: Kangana
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has spoken out in support of Priyanka Chopra, following the latter's statement that she left Bollywood because she was pushed into a corner.
In a recent interview, the former Miss World had stated that she was being "pushed into a corner" and was "tired of the politics" in the film industry, which made her leave Bollywood at the 'peak' of her career.
Kangana was one of the first to respond to Priyanka's comments, claiming that Karan Johar had banned her. Priyanka and Kangana previously collaborated on the film "Fashion" in 2008.
On Tuesday morning, Kangana tweeted in response to a news article about Priyanka Chopra's statement, writing, "This is what @priyankachopra has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her, and chased her out of the film industry, a self-made woman was made to leave India. Everyone is aware that Karan Johar banned her."
"This rude, envious, cruel and toxic individual should be held accountable for damaging the culture and climate of the industry, which was never unfriendly to outsiders in the days of AB or SRK. His (Karan Johar's) gang and mafia PR should be raided and made accountable for harassing outsiders," she added.
Meanwhile,Priyanka revealed during an interview with Dax Shepherd—for his "Armchair Expert" podcast—that she was struggling with industry politics and not getting good roles. This is when her current manager and friend, Anjula Acharia suggested Chopra try her luck in music in Hollywood.
