Kolkata is my second home: Ferdous
"Hothat Brishti" was a superhit film, which earned the very first National Film Award for actor Ferdous Ahmed. The film was equally loved by the audiences on both sides of the border.
After that, his career graph kept going upwards, making him one of the busiest and popular actors at the same time both in Dhallywood and Tollywood.
Due to an unprecedented issue, the actor could not work or even go to Kolkata, for the last four years. However, he will be working on a new project "Mir Jafar Chapter 2", after many years, and on that purpose, he will visit Kolkata by the end of this month.
Alongside Ferdous, the Arkadeep Mallika Nath directorial film will also cast Srabanti Chatterjee, Saurav Das, and Priyanka Sarkar in the lead. It also stars Ziaul Roshan, Subrat Dutta, Sohini Sengupta, Bulbuli Panja, and Joy Sarkar in pivotal roles.
"It feels like I am returning home. I have always felt Kolkata is my second home,"says the actor.
According to him, the shooting for the project will begin from the first week of January, next year. "By the end of this month, I will be going to Kolkata for the pre-production of the new film I have signed."
There are possibilities that the project might be filmed in Murshidabad, India.
For the last 4 years, Ferdous missed visiting Kolkata, and his friends in the city as well. "I had such a time in my career, that I would shoot in Dhaka for half a month and the other in Kolkata," says the actor.
He shares that he and actress Srabanti are good friends, and previously shared work with Srabanti in one film. "In this project we will be working opposite each other," he adds.
Ferdous also shared that they have performed on stage together. "Besides being a talented artiste, she is a good human being as well."
The actor's last project in Kolkata was "Dutta". "I can't express my joy in words. As an artiste, nothing feels as good as this that I can reach to the audience of Kolkata as well."
In "Mir Jafar Chapter 2", he will be seen as an influential persona, which he is hopeful about. "I want to give my best to portray this role, and I am taking preparations as such," shared the actor.
Meanwhile, the actor is busy shooting for Chotku Ahmed's film "Ahare Jibon", starring opposite Purnima.
Some of the projects featuring Ferdous include the likes of "Jam", "Gaangchil" and others awaits release.
