‘Makeup’ to hit theatres this Friday after three-year ban
The film "Makeup", directed by Anonno Mamun, is finally set to hit cinemas this Friday, January 10, after being banned for three years. The censor board originally barred the movie in 2021 over accusations of it portraying film industry figures in a negative light.
However, after submitting it again to the Film Certification Board a few months ago, the film was cleared for release with minor cuts.
"Makeup" has been awarded a "U" grade, meaning it's suitable for audiences of all ages. Director Mamun shared, "We've removed just one minute of footage. Cutting that small portion won't impact the overall story. The producer is eager for people to watch the film, so we've decided to release it in theatres on January 10."
The film delves into the lives of artistes caught in the spotlight, revealing how many hide personal truths behind their professional personas. It touches on how some film stars even keep their marriages a secret for the sake of their careers. But at the end of the day, when the makeup comes off, they all return to their true selves, where no facade can hide the truth.
"Makeup" explores the realities of the film industry, depicting the journey of artistes from their careers to their personal lives. It was initially released on an OTT platform three years ago but will now be available in cinemas.
The cast includes actors like Tariq Anam Khan, Roshan, Saif Chandan, Kazi Uzzal, Payel Mukherjee, and Bishwanath, all bringing their unique talents to the table.
