Mosharraf Karim stars in latest episode of ‘Dui Shaw’, dropping tonight
A common question people ask about astrologers is, "Why can't an astrologer predict their own fate?" The trailer for the new episode of "Dui Shaw", titled "Bhaggo Bhalo", addresses this intriguing question through Mosharraf Karim's character, an astrologer.
In one dialogue, the character explains, "One cannot see their own destiny. It's forbidden." Another line mentions the astrologer's tendency to "gamble with fate." The fascinating dialogues and visuals from the trailer have sparked curiosity among the audience.
This latest episode of the Chorki original "Dui Shaw" aims to address these questions and satisfy the audience's curiosity. Premiering on Christmas Day (December 25) at 12:00am, the episode features Mosharraf Karim portraying an astrologer calculating others' destinies.
His character examines other's hands with a magnifying glass in one hand and a bird by his side. The renowned actor takes on this intriguing role, adding to his repertoire of memorable performances.
Directed by Nuhash Humayun, this episode centres on an astrologer who unexpectedly goes viral. The cast includes Jebunessa Sobhan, Adnan Adib Khan, and Samia Othoi. Nuhash previously shared that "Dui Shaw" explores contemporary fears within society, a theme he has aimed to capture throughout the series.
Reflecting on the filming of "Bhaggo Bhalo", Nuhash shared, "We shot it during July-August. At one point, I noticed a lot of smoke rising in the distance, and we decided to incorporate it into the frame."
"The fear we explore in this story reflects real-life fears since we have tried to weave this into the narrative. The 'Dui Shaw' series tackles such themes, and I hope the audience will experience a similar psychological horror in 'Bhaggo Bhalo'," added Nuhash.
The "Dui Shaw" series consists of four stories, three of which were co-written by Nuhash and his mother, Gultekin Khan.
This is the first time Mosharraf Karim has worked under Nuhash Humayun's direction. He mentioned that he took on the role because of the compelling story. "When I heard the story, I felt it was something I had to be a part of," he shared. "At the same time, I recognised the challenge, as the tone of the work is a bit unique."
Both Nuhash and Mosharraf were thrilled with their collaboration. The actor shared, "Art knows no boundaries. Ultimately, when my director is pleased with my performance, I'm happy as well. My character is an astrologer here who lives in a slum and embarks on a forbidden action after being influenced by the seven sins. I really like the story, and I hope the audience will enjoy it too."
The second season of "Pett Kata Shaw" is titled "Dui Shaw", with its first episode, "Waqt", already available on Chorki for streaming. The episodes "Ontora" and "Beshura" are yet to be released. Nuhash explained that "Ontora" explores a supernatural take on married life, while "Beshura" tells the story of an artiste born without melody.
