The "official" trailer of eminent Indian director Shyam Benegal's "Mujib: The Making of A Nation" would be released soon, according to actor Arifin Shuvoo, who plays the role of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the biopic. A preliminary trailer of the film was launched in the Marché du Film Commercial Branch at the Indian pavilion of the Cannes Film Festival, on May 19.

Asked about the negative reaction to the trailer across social media, Shuvoo explained, "Let me just say that this is not the official trailer. It was made just for the Cannes Film Festival. The post-production of the film is still underway. That means that the cooking is still on. So, you cannot understand what kind of food has been made until the film's release."

"The trailer for Cannes was made in just 13 days. The work on visual effects is still pending, among other things," he told Voice of America (Bangla). Shuvoo added that the makers will release the official trailer in a few days. He also explained that the shortcomings that the viewers pointed out will be eliminated once the film is complete.

After the preliminary trailer was launched at the Cannes Film Festival, many criticised Shuvoo's voice and make-up for the role of Bangabandhu, as well as the use of visual effects, particularly for a scene with war planes in it.
