‘Myself Allen Swapan’ breaks Chorki’s streaming records
The famed Chorki web-series, "Myself Allen Swapan" has recently broken the highest streaming record of the OTT platform, gathering 10 million minutes of streaming time within just 100 hours of its release. The web-series is a spin-off of the Chorki original series, "Syndicate".
Directed by Shihab Shaheen, the web-series is the first spin-off series in Bangladesh and features an antagonist as the main lead.
The series casts Nasir Uddin Khan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Sumon Anowar and Abdullah Al Sentu, among others.
Back in 2022, Nasir Uddin Khan's portrayal of the character Allen Swapan was well received by the audience. However, the actor never thought that the spin-off series highlighting Allen Swapan's journey will have such a tremendous response.
"Allen Swapan and Nasir Uddin Khan aren't really similar in reality, yet it's one of my favourite characters that I have portrayed," shared Nasir Uddin. "However, I never thought the audience will love this character so much. I am getting countless letters, calls and posts showering praises on Allen Swapan. As an actor, I cannot express my joy in words."
The crime-thriller series also featured the noted actor Rafiath Rashid Mithila, as Shayla.
Upon hearing the news that series broke Chorki's records, the actor shared, "My role in the series was quite an interesting one. But I really didn't expect that the audience would watch 'Myself Allen Swapan' so much, in such a short time. This was only possible because of our team effort."
Director of the spin-off, Shihab Shaheen added, "Our works are only truly complete and fulfilled when the audience likes them. I did not think that the audience would love the character so much while making 'Syndicate'."
"Much of this credit goes to Nasir," added the director. "He truly breathed life into the character, adding another degree of depth to it."
