Actress Afia Nusrat Barsha had revealed her decision to step away from acting. However, for now, she is still working on the silver screen.

In an interview with The Daily Star, she shared her plans, stating that she will complete the three films currently in progress—"Netri: The Leader", "Masud Rana", and "Kill Him 2"—before retiring from acting. "I no longer find joy in it. My priority now is my family. I want to spend quality time with my two children and be an ideal mother. While their future is in the hands of the Almighty, as parents, it is our duty to guide them toward a better life," she explained.

Barsha further emphasised that the process will take time, as film productions can extend over several years. "I will quit acting, but not right away. These movies require a long shooting schedule—sometimes two to three years. Our film 'Netri: The Leader' has already faced long delays. Once these projects are completed, I will no longer take on new films," she added.

Barsha made her silver screen debut in 2010 with "Khoj: The Search", starring alongside Ananta Jalil. The two fell in love and tied the knot on September 23, 2011. Since then, they have collaborated on several films, including "Most Welcome", "Nishwartha Bhalobasha", "Din: The Day", and "Kill Him".
