‘Phineas and Ferb’ returns to Disney
Popular animated series "Phineas and Ferb" is back on Disney again to revive their 104 days of summer vacation.
Dan Povenmire, the show's co-creator, has signed an overall agreement with Disney Branded Television. As part of the agreement, he will produce two more seasons of "Phineas and Ferb", totaling 40 episodes, as well as a second season of "Hamster & Gretel", which will premiere on Disney Channel in August 2022. He will also work on other projects.
"Dan is recognized for his ability to create universally beloved storylines and characters with both heart and humor," said Ayo Davis, head of Disney Branded Television. "We couldn't be more excited to continue working with him and bring the famous Phineas and Ferb back in a huge way," said Davis, president of Disney Television.
The story of "Phineas and Ferb" follows the adventures of the titular stepbrothers, as they use their summer break to come up with grand projects that frequently defy science.
The series launched on the Disney Channel in 2008 and lasted until 2012, when a new batch of episodes debuted on Disney XD. There have also been two films produced to date — "Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" and "Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe."
