Piracy strikes ‘Jawan’ within hours of global release
Shah Rukh Khan starrer action film "Jawan" had its worldwide premiere today. The film is currently screening in over 10,000 theatres worldwide.
"Jawan" has also received an uncut censor board certificate from the Bangladeshi censor board this afternoon.
While fans eagerly fill cinema halls to watch the Bollywood superstar, the film itself has fallen victim to piracy.
According to news reports, "Jawan" was pirated and made available on multiple online platforms within hours of its release. Previously, Shah Rukh Khan's last film, "Pathaan" also encountered piracy issues, hours before its release.
As per expert predictions, "Jawan" is expected to cross Rs 75 crore in box office collections on its opening day. However, piracy poses a significant threat to its box office performance.
Moreover, several online platforms have featured film-review themed videos, which could further impact the theatre engagement of "Jawan".
Directed by Altee, "Jawan" features Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The film is currently being screened in over 5,500 cinema halls in India. Meanwhile, the film is also slated to hit 48 Bangladeshi silver screens tonight.
