Priyanka Chopra pulls out of her New York restaurant Sona
Priyanka Chopra who started her restaurant Sona at the heart of New York along with her business partner, Maneesh Goyal in 2021, is stepping away from the restaurant.
According to People magazine, Priyanka's reps told the publication, "Priyanka has stepped away from her partnership at Sona. The actor's decision won't have an impact on the restaurant."
The statement said that creating this firm will always be a "Priyanka believes that bringing Sona to life was invariably a proud and significant moment in her career."
Priyanka has always strived to bring Indian culture to the forefront, whether through compelling content for cinema and television or a beautifully served meal that reflects Indian haute cuisine.
However, the 41-year-old actor will remain interested in the hospitality and cuisine industry.
"Stepping away from Sona allows her to broaden these ambitions on a more global scale, and she's excited about the possibilities that await," said the spokeswoman.
Working with the actor was a "dream come true," according to Maneesh K Goyal, Sona co-founder and Chopra Jonas' friend and former business partner.
"We appreciate her collaboration and support. While she will no longer be participating as a creative partner in the future, she remains a part of the Sona family, and we are looking forward to our respective new chapters," Goyal concluded.
Sona, which means 'gold' in Hindi, was named by Chopra's husband, musician Nick Jonas, and opened while COVID-19 limitations were in effect.
