Remembering Tagore: TV channels on Rabindranath's death anniversary
Today marks the 82nd death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, who passed away, leaving a trail of literary legacies behind him. To commemorate his iconic stories, TV channels have arranged a set of programmes to remember the poet on the day of his demise.
BTV
Bangladesh Television (BTV) will air a special programme called "Tumi Robe Nirobe" where noted personalities like Soumitra Sekhar, Jharna Rahman, and Khairul Alam Sabuj will reminisce about the legendary poet's life. There will also be a recitation and musical segments in the show. Anima Roy and Chaya Karmokar will sing, while Jayanto Chattopadhay and Lila Hasan will recite at the show. The programme will air at 1:05 pm.
Tele-fiction "Oporochita" based on Rabindranath Tagore's short stories will air at 9 pm. "Mujib Chetonay Rabindranath" will air at 10: 20 pm.
RTV
A special drama based on Rabindranath Tagore's story "Toposhwini" will air at 8pm today. Directed by Sumon Anowar, the drama stars Nisho as Bardanondo and Zakia Bari Mamo as Shoroshi.
Maasranga Television
"Tomar Oshime'' will showcase songs, poems and recitations from various celebrities. Noted Rabindrasangeet artiste Shama Rahman will sing, while Samiul Poluck will recite at the show. The programme will air at 10: 30 pm.
Channel i
"Shorashori Rabindranath" will air at 11: 05, am and will showcase a discussion on the principles and philosophy of the magnanimous poet. There will also be a musical and recitation segment as well.
Impress tele-film "Tumi Robe Nirobe" will air at 3:05 pm. Keka Ferdousi will cook some of Rabindranath's favourite delicacies for a special cooking show programme at 6 pm.
Renowned singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya will serenade viewers with "Bangabandhur Priyo Rabindranather Gaan" which will air at 8: 30 pm.
