‘Shurongo’ makes record at Star Cineplex 

Eid-ul-Azha has brought a wave of excitement and anticipation for movie enthusiasts across the country as five highly-anticipated films hit the screens in 171 theatres, including multiplexes. Among these releases, Afran Nisho's debut film, “Shurongo,” has become the talk of the town, particularly at Star Cineplex, where it has set a remarkable record for the number of shows on the third day of Eid.

Among these releases, Afran Nisho's debut film, "Shurongo," has become the talk of the town, particularly at Star Cineplex, where it has set a remarkable record for the number of shows on the third day of Eid.

Raihan Rafi, the director of "Shurongo," expressed his delight, calling it a historic achievement for Bengali cinema at Star Cineplex. He wrote on his Facebook account yesterday, "Record. There will be 33 shows of Shurongo at seven branches of Star Cineplex starting Saturday. The tickets are already sold out."

Despite heavy rain from Eid Day onwards, people haven't stopped showing up to halls. Most theatres are packed , where the film is being shown..

"Shurongo" has also gained popularity for its late-night screenings, a rarity in the Bangladeshi cinema industry. Responding to the overwhelming demand, Roots Cineclub in Sirajganj, has introduced late-night shows, temporarily adding an additional screening to its regular four shows per day. 

Produced by Alpha-i and Chorki, the film also stars Tama Mirza, Mostafa Monwar, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Monir Ahmed Shakil, and Ashok Bepari among others. "Shurongo" will be released in India soon as well.
