Special ‘Daagi’ screening supports anti-genocide protest for Palestine

During a special screening of the film "Daagi" in a Dhaka cinema on April 7, actors, musicians, filmmakers, producers, and journalists observed a one-minute silence in support of Palestine, as part of the ongoing global strike.

The event notably saw the presence of "Daagi's producers Mahendra Soni (SVF, Alpha-i Entertainment), Shahriar Shakil, and Redoan Rony (Chorki), along with director Shihab Shaheen.

Other prominent attendees included actors Tariq Anam Khan, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, Afran Nisho, Bijori Barkatullah, Tama Mirza, directors Raihan Rafi and Saraf Ahmed Zibon, and musicians Sajid Sarker and Masha Islam.

After observing a moment of silence, the "Daagi" team spoke about the film in front of the guests, followed by a special screening of the movie.

After watching the film, Raihan Rafi said, "'Daagi' is a movie that you can definitely watch with your family." Saraf Ahmed Zibon commented, "'Daagi' has left a mark on the heart. Considering the tone of the film, Afran Nisho was the most fitting for the role. No one else could have done justice to his character."

Singer Masha Islam expressed her excitement, saying that the songs blend beautifully with the story. She stated, "It always feels great to hear and see my songs on the big screen with everyone. But what I liked the most was how the songs were used. They fit perfectly with the story."

The special screening of "Daagi" was also attended by the producer of "Borbaad", Shahreen Akhter Sumi, and the director, Mehedi Hassan Hridoy. They praised the film positively.

Director Mehedi said, "'Daagi' is a beautifully crafted film with a compelling story. I have nothing new to say about Shihab Shaheen bhai and Afran Nisho bhai. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie." Producer Shahreen Akhter Sumi also expressed her admiration for the film, saying, "It's a wonderfully directed movie."

"Daagi" is being screened with great fanfare in several cinemas across the country, including the multiplexes in the capital. Since its release on Eid-ul-Fitr, the movie has attracted an overwhelming crowd of viewers.

The positive reception from the audience is boosting the producers' morale. During the special screening, SVF Chairman Mahendra Soni assured the audience that even more exciting developments are on the horizon.
