Star Cineplex to open new branch in Bogura

Star Cineplex signed an agreement today with Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust to open fully furnished and modernised cinema halls at the hub of Bogura for movie lovers.

The branch, with two cinema halls and 425 seats, will be located on the 9th and 10th floor of Police Plaza in the Satmatha Intersection on Nawab Bari Road in Bogura.

The agreement was signed today between Star Cineplex Chairman Mahboob Rahman Ruhel and Mohammed Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Bangladesh Police A.I.G, Welfare Trust Police Headquarters, Dhaka, at the Padma Hall of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.

 Mahboob Rahman Ruhel talked about the importance of cinema halls in Bangladesh and how Star Cineplex is trying to drive the young generation towards better content and entertainment.

 "This is the first time that we are going to build a multiplex outside Dhaka. This couldn't have been possible without the help and support of the Bangladesh Police. We are planning to open our branch at Bogura by next year and provide a state-of-the-art cinematic experience to people. We want to build many more branches across the country," he mentioned.

DIG of Police Headquarters Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan also spoke about having more multiplexes in Bangladesh.

"We are really excited that we have partnered up with Star Cineplex to showcase excellent movie experiences for our customers at the Police Plaza Complex. We are also in primary discussion for another branch at the Police Plaza at Cumilla, which will hopefully be finalised by June of next year," stated the DIG.

Mahboob Rahman Ruhel also talked about starting the "Save the Cinema" campaign for cinema halls across the country during the pandemic.

"We suffered major losses during the Covid-19 pandemic, but we knew that we will come out strong due to the positivity. We have a lot of movies in the pipeline, and we are excited to release the new James Bond movie on October 8, during our 17th founding anniversary," he added.

He also confirmed that the initial ticket prices at Bogura will be less than Dhaka, and they will move towards standard prices later on.

Star Cineplex is also going to produce four new projects by next year, which will focus on the Liberation War and drug addiction.
