This too shall pass: Samantha Prabhu shares her myositis diagnosis
Currently, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most sought-after talents in the Indian film industry. She made her OTT debut on season 2 of "The Family Man", garnering a positive response from both local and international audiences.
Recently, the actress disclosed her struggle with myositis—a rare disease that causes muscle inflammation—on a social media post.
Myositis is an autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness, pain, and fatigue. The condition arises when the immune system starts attacking healthy tissues of ones' own body, causing pain and weakness.
Posting a picture from the hospital, the actress wrote, "Your response to the 'Yashoda' trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me."
"A few months back, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don't always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with," continued the post.
Samantha concluded the post, with a sense of hope, saying that everything will be alright soon.
"The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. Even when it feels like I can't handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one day closer to recovery. This too shall pass," finished an emotional Samantha.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu will soon be working with director Philip John on a film titled, "Arrangements of Love". In the film, Samantha will play the role of a bisexual character, who owns a detective agency.
