Will Smith surprises Jada onstage to proclaim his love

Jada Pinkett Smith, a Baltimore native, was actively publicising her forthcoming book, "Worthy" on Wednesday, at the Enoch Pratt Free Library there.

Her family, including her husband Will Smith, children Jaden and Willow, and Will's son from a previous marriage, Trey, were present at the event. They had all gathered while in town visiting Jada's 70-year-old mother.

Once Jada had finished her discussion about, "Worthy", Will unexpectedly seized the stage and addressed the assembled audience. During his speech, he opened up about his relationship with Jada and made a rather unconventional proclamation of love.

He expressed, "Our relationship is like a public, imperfect experiment in unconditional love. As I stand here today, I can honestly say I've never been happier in my entire life. I've attained every single thing I ever aspired to achieve. There's nothing left in this world that I long for, be it awards, wealth, family— everything I've ever dreamed of."

Will proceeded to attribute much of his career success to Jada, acknowledging that his achievements "largely rest upon the sacrifices Jada has made".

Furthermore, he posed a question to the audience: "Can you commit to loving someone for the entirety of your life, even when you don't see eye to eye with them?"

"Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet and I am going to show up for her and support her for the rest of my life," he added defiantly.

This came after Jada disclosed that they had been separated since 2016 but are presently committed to working on their relationship together.

She shared with People Magazine, "We've been engaging in some profound and intensive work as a couple. We share a profound love for each other, and we're in the process of determining what that means for us."

Jada also explained their decision to keep the separation private, stating, "I think we simply weren't prepared at that time. We were still navigating how to be in a partnership, figuring out how to present that to others, and we hadn't yet arrived at a clear understanding of it."
