Young directors have great potential: Dolly Zahur
Noted artiste and this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Film Awards, Dolly Zahur has been shooting for a tele-fiction in the capital today.
The BU Shuvo directorial project is titled, "Jhamela Kini.com". "This is a very good script and I like the director. The way he works is appreciable," shared the veteran actress.
The actress, who once used to be busy shooting for both small and big screen projects, is now quite sporadic when it comes to projects, due to her age. "I don't like staying idle, thus I want to work as much as I can, taking into account my energy at this age."
Dolly Zahur considers the entire fraternity as her family. "During the shooting, I got to meet everyone on the set. It feels great to spend time with them."
Talking about the current state of the industry, the veteran actress believes that emerging directors are showing their potential. "I am hopeful about the future of the industry as the young directors are doing very well," shared the actress.
Upon receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, the artiste was elated, sharing, "It is such a great recognition from the state level. I am grateful to our Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina and of course the jury board."
Her only son has been settled outside the country for many years now. We asked the actress how her son reacted to the news of her latest achievement. "My son is very introverted in nature, similar to his father," she laughs. "However, he is happy and congratulated me."
The veteran artiste loves to spend her spare time reading old magazines at home. "I have a huge collection of old magazines and I really enjoy reading them." Apart from shooting, Dolly Zahur also likes to spend her time talking to her close ones.
