‘Sitrang’ to cross Patuakhali, Barguna at 6am tomorrow

Cyclone 'Sitrang' will lash in land this evening (October 24, 2022) and its Center will hit around 6am tomorrow (October 25, 2022), said State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Enamur Rahman.

He said the cyclone is changing its speed and moving towards Bangladesh only.

It will hit badly 13 districts of Khulna, Barisal of Chattogram divisions, the state minister said, adding that Patuakhali and Barguna will be the worst-affected districts.

A total of 7,030 shelter centres, which have been kept ready, have accommodations of 25 lakh people of 15 districts.

Prime Minister has given directives to evacuate people of more vulnerable areas and asked coastal people to store their food stocks properly.
