Intl market to determine power, gas price: Nasrul Hamid

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said the price of electricity and gas will be determined by the international market.

He further said the subsidy given by the government in these two sectors will not be given in future.

"We are working to make a guideline about fixing the price," he said, replying to a question at a Dhaka hotel following a workshop.

He said the main goal of the government now is to provide affordable electricity. In this regard, an initiative has been taken to set up a 2000MW solar power plant within the next two years.
