Rain or drizzle likely today and tomorrow in Rangpur division: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast a drop in temperature until Thursday (January 9) morning, with chances of rain or drizzle today and tomorrow in different areas of the country.

The latest forecast was made after gradual rise in temperature over the past couple of days.

The BMD said rain or drizzle may occur at one or two places over Rangpur division with weather elsewhere over the country likely to remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky in 24 hours commencing 9:00am today.

In the weather bulletin, it also forecast light rain or drizzle at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions tomorrow.

The BMD recorded the country's lowest minimum temperature at 11.6 degrees Celsius this morning in Jashore which was 9.7 and 9.4 degrees Celsius yesterday and Saturday in Tetulia.

Dhaka's minimum temperature today was 16.8 degrees Celsius which was 15 degrees Celsius yesterday and 13 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

In the bulletin, the met office said night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Day temperature may fall slightly over Rangpur division, and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country.

Tomorrow, night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country, it added.

Furthermore, night temperature may fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius and day temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, BMD has forecast light to moderate fog at places over the country during midnight to morning today and tomorrow and moderate to dense fog over the country during midnight to morning on Wednesday.

Because of dense fog, air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may disrupt temporarily.
