Chhayanaut and DU to hold elaborate Victory Day programmes
Chhayanaut, one of the longest-standing cultural lighthouses of the country, is joining hands this December with Dhaka University for the second year running, to celebrate the glorious occasion of our Victory Day on December 16. The programme will be held at the central playground of the Dhaka University, at 3:40pm.
This year's programme will be bigger than previous years, with a number of educational institutes joining the initiative-- University of Asia Pacific, Jagannath University, Shanto-Marium University of Technology, Lalmatia Women's University College, Ati Bhawal Higher Secondary School, Imperial College, Dhaka Residential Model College, Engineering University School & College, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College, Lalmatia Housing Society School & College, Holy Cross School & College, Aroni, Udayan and Uddipon Schools, Academia, Excel Academy, South Breeze, Sunbeams, Sunnydale and Scholastica schools. Along with the choral songs, group dance performances will feature Chhayanaut dancers along with Jago Art Centre, Nritya Nandan, Nrityam Nrityashilan Kendra and Brotochari.
A new song has been written for the occasion by Kabir Bokul, which Sujeyo Shyam has put tunes to. Nine chorus songs will be performed at the event, which will be inaugurated by DU Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique.
The programme is open to all. General audience can enter the field through the swimming pool gate next to the Doyel Chattar.
Swagata Rownak, Sujit Dey and Nahas Khalil have designed the stage, with implementation from Deshal.
