Daffodil International University ensures campus is fully protected from Covid-19 before reopening
Daffodil International University (DIU) authority has announced DIU campus as hundred percent protected from Covid-19.
DIU campus has been prepared for protection against Covid-19 for face to face learning according to the rules and guidelines of World Health Organization (WHO) and University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC).
The university authority is giving highest emphasis on health security from beginning of outbreak of covid-19 pandemic. DIU authority welcomed the recent announcement of UGC allowing final semester private university students to attend practical classes and examinations in person but, maintained that viva-voce would be held virtually.
Professor Dr M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU said that they agreed with UGC's condition and have been trying to make their campus 100% protected from Covid-19 as students and employees have started a slow return to the campus.
Covid-19 specialist and researcher Professor Dr Abu Naser Zafar Ullah, Associate Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Science of DIU said that the campus and halls of DIU are fully ready for protection from the health risk of coronavirus.
DIU has recruited full time doctors and psychologists dedicatedly staying for giving health service to the students. DIU also has a medical center and hospital inside the campus with oxygen, ventilator, ICU and all other facilities.
Thermal scanner and hand sanitisers are also used at the entrance gate of the campus. Those in charge of security check temperature of students and teachers and only then allow entrance to the campus. Students maintain social distance (6 feet) in the classroom. Students of Textile Engineering department are making mask and students of Pharmacy and NFE department are making hand sanitisers.
Students who are living in the halls also maintain health safety. Measures for social distancing and health security have been ensured in living rooms, reading rooms, dining rooms and other spaces. DIU has its own transportation for students, teachers and officials.
DIU campus is now fully covid-19 protection-friendly campus. The campus is going to be open after a long vacation of 7 months.
