No decision on lockdown despite upward Covid-19 infection rate: Health Minister
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque today said the government has not yet made any decision on lockdown although the rate of coronavirus infection has gone up.
"The rate of coronavirus infection is increasing. But the government has not yet decided on enforcing lockdown. If the upward trend of infection continues, it will be considered," he said.
The minister was talking to reporters before he launched administering Covid-19 booster dose at Manikganj's 250-bed General Hospital today, reports our local correspondent.
He said vaccination is going on at the ward level. It will be possible to administer at least four crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine in January.
"We hope, we will be able to administer the second dose to 12 and a half crore people by April-May," added the minister.
