Dengue death toll now 283, highest in 23 years

At least 10 dengue patients died across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.
With the new deaths, this year's death toll reached 283, the highest in 23 years. Last year, the death toll from dengue was 281.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Meanwhile, another 2,589 people were hospitalised, taking the total number of dengue cases to 59,716, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 50,223 dengue patients have been released so far.
