Diabetes: Priorities

In the new millennium, type 2 diabetes is threatening the civilised world as one of the biggest public health issues in modern history. Close to 300 million people are affected worldwide and another 150 million are forecasted to be diagnosed by 2030.

Diabetes is no longer an issue for the aged people only. As we know one of the major reasons for that is today's unwise and neurotic lifestyle — that eventually leads to obesity to severe depression.

Well, there are some good news also coming along with that. An English inventive study showed that people with severe diabetes type 2, can reverse the course of the disease in just one week by optimising dietary strategies, such as eating low-glycemic foods and by staying on a low-calorie diet.

Certainly we are aware of 3'D's strategy — that is diet, discipline and drug. But probably the best news is regarding the diet. It is the first one to get the priority. Dietary changes alone can help a lot for your body to heal. Studies of patients who have weight-loss surgery show that even a dramatic change in diet in a short period of time creates helpful metabolic changes.

An American study at the Human Nutrition Research Center (USDA) by Dr Richard Anderson  found that people who eat apple pie have a significantly lower probability of getting Type II diabetes. He isolated cinnamon as the substance in the apple pies that was preventing the diabetes. Within cinnamon, the key substance is a water soluble polyphenol type-A polymer as the effective ingredient. But at the same time, cinnamon in overdose is very bad.

All the metrics supposed to be related to obesity, such as high blood sugar, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, inflammation, and clotting, are considerably reduced even without considerable weight loss due to the rapid effects of dietary changes in the body.

Whatever you buy or do; just remember all the time maintaining a healthy weight and stress management are two best ideals for optimal health.
