Osmani Hospital: Strike called off as prime accused held

Students and intern doctors at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital yesterday suspended their ongoing strike over the attack on fellows and harassment of a female intern doctor.
They postponed their work suspension for seven days after Dibya Sarkar, the prime accused in the attack case, was arrested in the city's Shahporan in the early hours.
Dr Abdul Montakim Chowdhury, president of Intern Doctors' Council, said, "But if police fail to arrest all the accused within one week... we will resume protests."
Following the strike suspension, the intern doctors returned to duty, easing patients' sufferings.
On Sunday, a patient's relative was handed over to police for harassing a female intern doctor. Later, miscreants attacked the medical students on Monday, injuring two of them.
