Freedom fighter quota: MBBS results of 193 withheld for scrutiny
The results of 193 candidates who passed medical entry test this year under freedom fighter quota, have been withheld for further scrutiny.
A press release was issued by the health ministry in this regard today, signed by Md Shahadat Hossain, its public relations officer.
In the 2024-25 MBBS admission programme, 5 percent quota for freedom fighters will be applicable only to the children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters, and Biranganas, as per the existing rules. It will not be applicable to their grandchildren or anyone else, as per the press release.
Of the 269 seats reserved under this quota, 193 candidates who passed the admission test have been identified, said the ministry, adding that the remaining 76 seats have already been filled from the merit list.
The 193 selected candidates under the freedom fighter quota must present their parent's freedom fighter certificate, their own birth registration certificate, along with all necessary documents and academic certificates for verification at Medical Education Section on the 2nd floor of the old building of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Mohakhali by January 29.
If any error or false information is detected during the verification process, the admission of the concerned candidate will be cancelled, and the vacant seats will be filled from the merit list, said the release, adding that until the verification process is completed, all admission-related activities for these 193 candidates will remain suspended.
Admission activities for other candidates and all other operations of medical colleges will continue as usual, said the press release.
