JMB member sentenced to 10 years in explosives case

A Rangamati court today sentenced a member of the banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh to 10-year imprisonment in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.

Rangamati District and Sessions Judge Md Jahed Saiful Elahi passed the order.

The convict Shamim Mirza Galib has been in jail for more than 15 years, said Public Prosecutor Advocate Rafikul Islam.

According to the case statement, Galib was behind the blast at Dignity Hotel in Rangamati town in 2001.
