The High Court today granted ad-interim bail to choreographer Evan Shahriar Sohag in a case filed on charges of trafficking women to Dubai.

The court also issued a rule asking the state to explain why Evan Shahriar should not be granted permanent bail in the case, Deputy Attorney General Amit Dashgupta told The Daily Star.

The HC bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khizir Hayat granted the bail and issued the rule after hearing a petition filed by Evan Shahriar seeking bail in the case.

On September 10 last year, a CID team arrested Evan from the capital's Niketon area in a human trafficking case filed with Lalbagh Police Station on July 2.
