Having been involved in the creative field for almost 15 years, Faiza Ahmed decided to explore the Fashion sector in the late 2012. Throughout her journey, she realised that fashion for many youngsters still means getting inspiration from the west. An avid fan of classical and folk music, she wanted to make a change and create designs that resemble the true beauty of art and heritage. Thus, she started experimenting with designs inspired by the popular trends, with a deshi touch.

For instance, when she noticed t-shirts with The Beatles' lyrics and logos were becoming quite a hit among fashionistas, she started incorporating the designs into saris and soon, it became one of the most popular trends of the time.

Always keeping her designs thematic, she likes to tell a story. "Concept has always been the hero of my designs. Rather than focusing on the surface, I like to dig deep into the stories behind each design," shared Faiza.

Faiza's new collection, inspired by the Independence of our country, is truly a ground-breaking phenomenon in the world of fashion today. The collection combines modern and traditional art styles, with calligraphy serving as the focal point of the pieces. Derived from a Sanskrit word, she named this collection 'DESHABHAKTI by Faiza Ahmed.'

The word deshabhakti holds a special place in her heart. In a world where we are always chasing a better life for ourselves, we often forget about that one thing which is truly embedded into our existence. And that is our country. Taking inspiration from the song O amar desher mati by Rabindranath Tagore, she created a line that exhibits the true meaning of being a patriot. Focusing on some particular words from the song like, aanchal, o amar desher mati and mati, the tone for the entire collection was earthy and natural. The influence of black and golden calligraphy was quite evident in all the designs. Launched on 17 March at the Bangladesh Fashion Week 2023, the designs are a brilliant representation of Bangladeshi people's gratitude and passion.

Faiza has clearly put her heart and energy into this collection, producing something absolutely precious and unique. From fusion wear to sarees, the thoughtful line has something for everyone.

'DESHABHAKTI by Faiza Ahmed' is more than simply a work of art, it is an inspiration and celebration of Bangladesh's spirit. It is a monument to Bangladesh's rich history and culture, as well as a remembrance of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters fighting for their beloved country's independence.
