Dear Confused,
It is normal for parents to expect a certain lifestyle from their children, it equally natural for you to choose your own path. Please do understand that every person is unique and your parents have been programmed by their life experiences. So be empathetic towards them and make them understand your life goals clearly. We are sure, with persuasion and upright explanations they will understand your point of view and let you follow your passion.
